Lingerie Chests

Have you ever had your kids playing around in your dresser?  Have they ever found something that you were embarrassed about, say like your lingerie or your laced night gown? If so, then a lingerie chest is defiantly what you’re looking for.  Nothing is worse than the feeling of having your “night time clothes” stored in a location where they can be accessed.

That’s where lingerie chests can add that extra level of security. Having one of your kids run out with your g-sting over his head is something to avoid…trust me!

Lingerie chests have been around for years. They are also known as lingerie dressers or a lingerie chest dresser.  Their main function is to store your lingerie and undergarments.  Lingerie chests typically come with a lock that is assessable with a key. Buying a locking lingerie chest will give you a since of security from kids or any other unwanted guests. The lock is located only on the top drawer, when locked that drawer is locked, all the rest of the drawers will be locked also.  These chests are narrower than your standard bedroom dresser and a bit taller. The standard chest will have 5 drawers.  Having the extra drawers are nice because I like to color coordinate my lingerie.  Having separated drawers gives you the space to virtually organize your lingerie as you see fit.  No more sharing your husband’s underwear drawer.

Lingerie chests can come in a variety of colors and designs.  The color will come from the wood that it is made from.  These types of wooden lingerie chests really add to the décor of any bedroom.  Such woods as Oak, Cherry Wood, Pine and Cedar all make for beautiful and elegant lingerie chests.  Cedar is probably the most popular due to them being able to keep moths out of your clothing.  Of course you could always throw some moth balls in any wood dresser and you’re good to go.  Lingerie chests made with any of these types of woods are going to be durable since they are made from solid wood. Many of the dressers you see at the big box furniture stores like IKEA, Ashley and Wal-Mart are more likely made from press board.  These lingerie are nice because you can’t paint them black, white or whatever color you chose, but will not last as long as a lingerie chest made from solid wood. You need to make sure you know what type of wood/color you want before you decide to shop.  This will make your shopping go a lot easier knowing what you’re looking for.

When shopping for a lingerie dresser, be sure to look for lingerie chest furniture reviews.  Reading several of the reviews you can find online will really get you dialed in what type of lingerie chest you’re looking for.  Lingerie chests sales are happening all over online.  It’s just a matter of being in the right place at the right time.  Many of the online retailers do and will offer free shipping in many cases.  This will reduce the cost significantly when buying online.  Also, another helpful tip is to look at scratch and dent sales.  On many of the websites they will have a page that is dedicated to furniture they may have received damaged.  These chests might only have some very light cosmetic problems like a scratch, but the retailers provide a heavy discount on these chests. Finding discount lingerie chests can be done, just got to keep digging!
